Mixed bag

I love book events. Well, my heart and soul do. My body hates them with a passion. My chronically in pain short ass loathes those damn chairs. My back and hips pay the price for the next five days or so. My body has a hangover that lasts nearly a week. I'm not sure how much longer I can do these events. I've already booked half a dozen of them for next year. We'll see how that goes. Toting everything around does a number on me. 

I need a little chart I can put on the front of my table.

Has:

Anxiety

Chronic pain

Fibro

ADHD

Proceed with caution.

I feel bad because the expectation from readers is usually the author stands as they come by. Sometimes, I simply can't. Or I'll stand and lean against the top of my pushed-in chair. But, being mostly deaf in my left ear doesn't help communication, either.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE!

Have I mentioned I love readers? Like LOVE THEM??? There is nothing like engaging like-minded people, laughing, and having a wonderful conversation with them. I appreciate each and every person who stops by to say hi, grab a book, or simply make conversation.

You are my people! 🩷

Spent yesterday practically catatonic in my rocker recliner. Back and hips still pissed today. 

But, right now I'm sitting like a shrimp at my desk and eyeballing all the things I need to do.

Out and about

I've three, possibly four, more book appearances this year. I usually cut off after August because nearly all the bdays, both babies and gbabies, occur in the latter part of the year. All my babies born in October. Three of my four granddaughters in September. Anniversary in October. 

It's...a lot.

But when opportunities arise, I'd be foolish not to jump on them.

Foolish, I'm not.

I will, possibly, be at the 2025 Authors Festival in Lawton from 8-11, October 11th. TBD

I will be at the Spicy Book Festival in Waukomis from 2-6, October 18th.

I will be at Social Capital in OKC 5-9, November 1st.

I will be at the 2025 Oklahoma Authors Showcase in Sulphur 10:30-1:30, November 15th.

I absolutely love meeting new authors and readers. It's one of the best parts of this experience.

I'm on the road again!

It'll be my second year attending Book Me Romance, and it's always a good time!

Come meet wonderful authors and rub elbows with other devoted readers. 

I'm how old?

My age is a non-issue. I've already started thinking of myself as 53. (I did the math this morning. I'm 52. Either way...who cares?) Oh. Wait. I'll tell you who cares...my PCP. 😑

I should get my shingles shot along with my flu shot. Oh, and think about my pneumonia shot. AND...a colonoscopy. 🙄 I told Doc that I'll THINK about the shingles duo. But I finally caved on the colonoscopy. I am not happy. Next Tuesday is D-Day. C-Day? And my anxiety is all about it. Doesn't help matters I have this two-page instruction sheet about the do's and don'ts of the colon probing business.

I am, thank the pharmacological gods, taking pills instead of the nasty drinks brewed up. My gag reflex is no joke. But the prep starts five days out. I can't have my buttered pecan ice cream. Nuts and berries are verboten. 😩 Then there's this cool graphic about how my business will go from brown to clear. 😷 I can't wait. 

Moving on from my ass...It's already May. I have so much stuff to do. Getting ready for my book trip to Des Moines for this:

Incredibly excited about the event. Love these to meet other authors and ALL THE READERS! 

I'm off to watch the weather. Oklahoma has been going through it. Hopefully do a TikTok and maybe a Snapchat.
