Canary: Out of the Shadows

I'm one big scene from the end. 🥳
And when I say this, I don't mean I have a major part of the book to finish, I mean I have one semi-major fight scene.
The real action already typed out in five segments and complete. The ending? Complete.
Don't get me wrong. It isn't going to be pretty. There will be mayhem and carnage. But...once I get in the groove, it'll unfold like a movie scene.

Writing, in the moment, has its pros and cons. MANY authors outline or plot to the nth degree. I am surely not one of them. Once again, kudos to you damn put-together people.
Funnily enough, I DID do a sketch outline for the big battle scene in Hell.

Could I be clearer than mud, please?
Sure.

I have two pages: battle above and battle below.
The battle below must unfold in a certain way so that it flows and domino-effects the next scene. Order and consequence are everything here.
I couldn't simply fumble through with meetings and scenes which didn't make sense, or God forbid, type this shit out of order.
I needed: sequence-consequence sequence-consequence sequence-consequence.
I have TEN of them.
It's the culmination of everything in the previous books up to and completing in the third. You never leave that shit up to chance.
It's simply too precise and important.

The battle above? I've set up the players. I've written the aftermath. I simply need to dive into the guts of it. Shake some intestines. Kick some bowels. You know, typical writer fare. 😂

I have these next three days with zero appointments. THANK GOODNESS!
Hoping to knock out this scene and continue on with edits.
But the end?
Oh, that heifer is in sight!

And the heavens opened...

Working on "Canary: Out of the Shadows". No. That whole sentence is NOT a typo. 😂
Let's face it. I've been about as excited as a child getting their first shots. Sidenote: received the flu, pneumonia, and COVID vaccines yesterday. Put my short ass into bed at three in the PM. My arms still hurt like a bitch, and are still swollen, today. 😑
And my body revolted, Oh...dear GOD! Arms, hips, right foot, left side. It's all some bullshit.
Moving on.

Today is OOS, and I AM excited about it. (Mostly.) More than half my tie-ins left actually happen in Hell, and I'm sadistically ecstatically erratically HERE FOR IT!

Been building up to this showdown and the big reveal for 2 1/2 books. 🥳
I think readers will really enjoy the end of Ray's story and understand all the consequences which take place.

As for me? I love Ray. Love her damaged little soul. Her audacity. Her morally grey morality. I don't know I've ever created a character I've enjoyed so much. Ray is top tier.

Also, check this out! It's 59 degrees here! 👏👏👏
Ya girl ran to WM for like, five things or so, and opened up her moonroof and the back windows.
OMG...heat destroys me, and this cooler weather is AMAZING.
(not for my fibro...but whatevs...)

That's it from my desk.
OOS has 36,453 words. I hope to have it released November 14th.
Need to finish it first.
